As our Jewish friends prepare for the Hanukkah let us reflect on the kinds of lights we want to kindle…
“Look at me and be as I am; ye must die to yourselves and to the world, so ye shall be born again and enter the kingdom of heaven. Behold the candle, how it gives light. It weeps its life away drop by drop in order to give forth its flame of light. The time has come when we must part, but the separation is only of our bodies; in spirit we are united forever”
~ Bahá’í Faith, Abdu’l-Baha
What nurtures your soul? What makes your heart tender? Prayer, music, fellowship, tea poured in peace, homemade banana bread baked with love and shared with a smile? Whatever the answer might be, sharing music and prayers with friends gets us all closer to the Creator.
- “Behold The Candle” Interfaith Prayer Station
Arlington Interfaith Prayer Station and Spiritual Conversation “Behold The Candle”
Join us this Monday, December 7th, 2015, for an Interfaith Prayer Station and Spiritual Conversation on the theme “Behold The Candle“.
We’ll start at 7:00 pm with a healthy dinner followed by readings of selected Holy Writings and Prayers. We have many books of prayers from different faith traditions but if you wish, feel free to bring your own prayers or inspiring writings. We will uplift and refresh our souls with inspiring musical selections and we’ll conclude with tea and sweets.
We’ll also say prayers for anyone in need, so if you can’t join us and would like to request prayers — or if you need directions — please contact me.
Until we meet, please consider supporting the Global Choir & Orchestra Music Initiative fundraising campaign aiming to launch a new album of original Baha’i Music!
