Musical Prayer Station with the Sabets and a preview of the next one

What a delightful, fun evening we had tonight with the talented Sabet family. Both Sina and Cameron played on the violin and Haideh lead us into a number of delightful songs. It was particularly fun to have guests from as far as Seattle and Texas and as close as Reston and Arlington come and join us for live music,  fellowship and refreshment, but most of all for prayers and inspiring holy writings:

Intone, O My servant, the verses of God that have been received by thee,
as intoned by them who have drawn nigh unto Him,
that the sweetness of thy melody may kindle thine own soul,
and attract the hearts of all men. Whoso reciteth, in the privacy of his chamber,
the verses revealed by God, the scattering angels of the Almighty
shall scatter abroad the fragrance of the words uttered by his mouth,
and shall cause the heart of every righteous man to throb.
Though he may, at first, remain unaware of its effect, yet the virtue
of the grace vouchsafed unto him must needs sooner or later exercise
its influence upon his soul. Thus have the mysteries of the Revelation
of God been decreed by virtue of the Will of Him
Who is the Source of power and wisdom.

I had hoped to bake banana bread as it has become my tradition but it turned out I did not have all the ingredients so by the time I had purchased everything, it was time for the guests to arrive. The divine assistance did not tarry and as the friends started arriving, they brought organic figs freshly picked from their own tree and delightful sweet breads.

As a special but much appreciated surprise, Alexander Nabil Ahdieh Kruszewski gave us a preview of the type of musical performance we can expect from him at the next Musical Prayer Station on October 19th, 2012:

You would not want to miss seeing this talented young man perform live music inspired by his love for both science and the Baha’i Faith.

    Dear Mitko,

I apologize because I did not make it last evening as I know I would have enjoyed the music and the fellowship. I have recently been renovating my condo and unfortunately some emergencies came up. Please keep me on your list. Actually, Fridays work better me than Thursdays as I am still working evenings.

    Warm Baha’i regards,
    Chuck
